Redneck Wine Glasses

Nothing says Class like a big-gulp ("big gulps, eh?) of wine. Am I right or am I right? Well, carry that action over and add a 'Redneck Wine Glass.' Are you still feelin' classy? I know I am! But I live in Alabama so I suppose I don't count...

We've all seen these featured on pinterest at one time or another, but I bet you didn't know just how easy they are to make.

My girlfriend is getting married next month and we threw her a Wine & Cheese themed lingerie shower. It was so much fun and we felt like "grown-ups" as we got schmammered off wine. Ok I say "we" but we all know Big Momma was 'pumping' for lil man so I was just sippin'. But I digress...

We all had our "duties" and mine was to bring wine and buy the Party Favors. I really had a hard time deciding what to do as favors, but I knew I didn't want to waste money on something people wouldn't use or they would just throw away. Personally, I know I have received enough Bath & Body Works to keep my city smellin' fresh through the apocalypse. I'm not knockin' the travel size gifts, I just have enough is all.

I decide to try my hand at making these so-called Redneck Wine Glasses. It's cute. It sticks with the theme. And what's the hurt in having an additional beaker that you can drink your alcohol out of? I don't see the harm.

Another motivational factor for me making these Glasses was that I already had a bunch of Mason Jars laying around the house, busy not being used. Hobby Lobby has them, as well as your local super market.

After a trip to the Dollar Store for some candle holders, I was ready. Unfortunately, they only had 6 for sale... so 6 favors is all I made. :-/

The big necessity in this whole project is the glue. I've heard different people use different types, but I ultimately went with 527. You will read that it works well with glass but I wouldn't press your luck and wash these glasses in the dishwasher.

After gluing the candle holders to the bottom of the glasses, I worked on spraying the tops with chalkboard paint for an added bonus within this project. I wanted to be able to write on the tops of the glasses, using chalk markers. I tested a couple and it worked awesome! Wipes right off!

I had made custom 'labels' for these glasses with the Bride & Groom's initials, as well as a simple Thank You to all the guests for coming. The paper came from Hobby Lobby, the creation in Photoshop and the awesomeness by yours truly. ;)

Lastly, I used my old faithful 1 7/8 paper cutter (Hobby Lobby) to get this look, and then used my hole punch and looped some Jute threw to create a more rustic look.

And there ya have it - Redneck Wine Glasses

Long Time, No C....section

Aaaaaaaaaaaand I'm back. I hope no one held their breath! After being put on bed rest for a month, having a baby and then raising said Baby for 9 weeks, I have returned. Please, hold the applause.

Disclaimer: No, I did not have a C-Section... but I suppose that is what I said right? "No C...section?" Anywho, I just wanted to make this clear - and now I am sure everyone is getting a visual of... ugh, moving on.

If you're a Mommy out there, I know you can relate to the INDESCRIBABLE feeling of being a mother. I won't try and elaborate on this feeling because 1. I just said it was Indescribable and 2. I remember people telling me all their feelings after having a baby, and even though I could see their sincerity and I KNEW things changed after, I couldn't fully grasp it. You truly don't know the feeling until you experience it for yourself. I absolutely love it.

Max is 9 weeks (last Friday) and he is changing daily! He is moving out of his newborn clothes and into 0-3 Months. I'm having a hard time packing away the newborn outfits, I'm not gonna lie.

Thus far I have done a terrible job at documenting his life and I am going to change this...today!

*Place hand on imaginary Bible*

I vow to post a picture of momentous occasions, so that my Mommy-Brain (it's a real thing, ok?!) doesn't forget these special moments and I can go back and see how far he has come.

After all this talk about "him," please meet the cutest, most smartest, most handsome-est boy in all the land -

Maxwell Drake

Don't you just want to squeeze him?! Well, too bad - he's mine. ;)

Hopefully I can get back into the blogging world soon. Today has been spent trying to catch up with all those that I follow...and BOY have I missed a lot!

Catch ya on the flip side!
